~LillyNox is a graphic designer and game art artist and a friend of mine. And while we and some others were chatting about me wanting a logo or something, she went "I guess I can do it!". And so she did.
I am forever grateful to her. Because next to my sewingmachine, overlock and the on-button on my laptop, I'm terrible with technology (compared to others from my generation). Let alone digitally design stuff.
Lillynox, I owe you forever and I will bury you in presents and things!
You can't really see it from my icon, since you can't really enlarge my icon, but if you want to see her work a bit more hi-res, I put them in a small album up on Imgur.
The original Star Wars pun kinda got lost in the design- but then again, how do you shilouet Leia, combine it with what I do for art and keep it recognisable?
I LOVE how she still has a bun, though- which is used as a pincushion. Credits for that idea go to ~Winged-Vayla. Oh, and the brilliant detail of a small sewingmachine on top of her crown.
Gahhh, so pretty! I really can't stop talking about how awesome it is and all that. <3
In other news: My grandma is moving to a smaller apartment, so she was cleaning out her walk-in crafting closet. Among the stuff that she wouldn't use anymore was an embroidery ring, which she said I can have! YAY! Embroidery rings have been on my wishlist so long!
I'm going to pick it up at my parents' place this wednesday, so prepare for some embroidery freestyling in the near future!
What's also been going on: The amount of faves and add-to-certain-folder-things I've been getting on my circle coat have been MAD. I am barely active on this page yet but the attention I've received so far on this particular piece of crafting from my hand, have been (for my standards) out of this world. Thank you so much, guys (and girls)! <3
It's funny because I really don't see it as that special of an item. You ofcourse can't see it on the picture and I think a lot of people who don't know much about sewing won't look at it too critically too- but as the creator of the piece, there are so many small flaws. Out of all the things in my gallery until now, it really is the thing I've screwed up the most, haha! So for me, it feels really strange, getting so much attention for ths one particular thing. Which makes me appreciate it even more, I guess!
Here's the coat again, just as a small reminder:
What's ALSO been going on: This last Saturday, it was Klik!festival in Amsterdam. Which is a small, animation-based film festival. The festival had a small Adventure Time special, since it's Cartoon Network's 20th birthday this year- and its 10th birthday here in the Netherlands. =SedNobiS was a volunteer for the festival and she was asked to gather some Adventure Time cosplayers. And I was one of the people she asked. We had a Finn, a Fionna, plush Jake (which =SedNobiS made, check out her dA!), Marceline, Marshall Lee, Princess Bubblegum, Peppermint Butler and me as Lumpy Space Princess. Which I totally abused to be a total penishead, lol. Sorry guys!
They asked us to hand out these awesome Finn and Jake hats, that CN donated to the festival because of their anniversary and all that jazz, which was awesome. We all got a Jake hat as well. I'll try to find an excuse to make a picture of it once. Jake hat rocks my socks.
What I didn't know beforehand, was that Klik! had fixed a special guest, namely Nate Cash. For those who don't know Nate Cash (I didn't know either, at first); he has been creative director and/or storyboard advisor for a good amount of AT episodes. WHICH WAS TOTALLY AWESOME. We got a picture with him, yay! When the decent pictures get out again, I'll try to post one/two/some.
Well, I think that's it for a bit. Now off trying to save my education by making all my homework at once, because I've been slacking a horrible lot on that part of my life again.
P.S. I'd like to put dA links of the other AT cosplayers in this journal too! If you were one (because I know some watch me/I watch some <3 ) or know one (or two, or three), tell me!
